To the one discovering their darker side

To the one discovering their darker side,
There could be thousands of thoughts going inside your head and yet you act as if there is nothing in this world that bothers you. Mastered the art, huh? The more I open up and let others be comfortable around me, I realize how all of us have entirely different lives but still go through the same battle every day. Only our reaction or the way of dealing with it is different.
As I grew up, I discovered the dark part of me, also sometimes called ‘the shadow self’. This part is filled with darkness, rage, vengeance, and other heavy emotions that sometimes control us. Our lives are filled with influences and distractions caused by this materialistic world. Lockdown was the perfect way to slow things down and get in touch with our real selves. Don’t avoid negativity, let it come to you. The more you run away from it, the more it tries to grab you tightly. With time you’ll learn how to balance it and deal with it. Admit that there is an existence of this other side that works so hard to get noticed by you.
With this letter today, I want you to take out some moment and take good care of your brain. I understand it can be incredibly hard to take some out for something like this because nothingness triggers overthinking as well but that’s the beauty of life. If it were as simple as you imagined then the adventure, journeys, winnings, losses, lessons wouldn’t have been so overwhelming. It is a gradual and eventual process, remember you don’t need to get your life together by tomorrow.
Seize the day, make it count, experiment, make mistakes, it’s okay to repeat them sometimes, and then learn your lesson the hard way but this doesn’t mean that everything should be achieved the tougher way. Life can be very simple and easy, and now that you’ve mastered the art of hiding your pain, why don’t you get on the journey of mastering the mind?
-Someone who has already started the adventure
